Frequently asked

What is ISO 5211 and why does it matter for actuator selection?

ISO 5211 is the international standard defining the mounting flange dimensions and drive-square size between a part-turn actuator and the valve it operates - matching to it means an actuator from one manufacturer can mount to a valve from another.

How do I choose between single-acting and double-acting?

Single-acting (spring-return) is specified when the valve must move to a defined safe position on loss of air supply. Double-acting holds its last position on air loss and is generally the more economical option when that fail-safe behaviour isn’t required.
